Our Staff Team
Our staff team at Del Ray UMC would love to welcome you to our community. Each member of our team is dedicated to bringing our unique backgrounds, education, and gifts to serve the congregation and community. We love working together to create a collaborative and fun ministry environment, and use our diverse gifts to be flexible to the varying ways God calls us to work here.
Pastor Arum joined the Del Ray church family in July 2023, along with her husband, Joon, and their two daughters, Virginia and Charlotte. She is passionate about building a church that welcomes people of all generations, where new disciples, both young and old, are continuously born, nurtured, empowered, and sent out to spread the gospel and share God's love. In her free time, Pastor Arum enjoys attending local festivals and events, traveling, and gardening.
Her favorite Scripture verse is 1 Corinthians 15:10a, "By the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me has not been in vain."
Suji has been with DRUMC since March of 2019. In her free time, she likes to travel, hangout with friends, and spend time with her husband and two children.
Her favorite hymn is You Are Mine.
Britany Spivey
Director of Children’s Ministry
Britany is originally from North Carolina and recently moved to the area with her husband and two daughters. She is passionate about welcoming all children into a growing relationship with God and walking alongside families as they explore faith together. Britany loves leaning into God’s Word with children, especially during Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She cherishes those moments when children begin to connect God’s love to their everyday lives.
A former collegiate basketball player and coach, Britany later served for twelve years as a Director of Christian Education and Children’s Ministry. She is grateful for the opportunity to serve this church community that values the children of the church and to build relationships with both children and their parents, as a true blessing. In her free time, Sally enjoys watching sports, visiting museums, and exploring her new community with her family.
Jazmin Seegars
Office Manager
Jazmin was born and raised in Alexandria and is the daughter of Colette, who has served as our Children’s Ministry assistant for more than two decades. She enjoys spending time with animals, caring for plants, and working with children, finding joy in helping living things grow and thrive. Jazmin is grateful for the opportunity to serve within the church community and considers it a blessing to walk alongside others in their faith journey. She strives to reflect God’s love through kindness, patience, and a servant’s heart in both her work and daily life.
Emily was raised in the United Methodist Church, where her mother is a staff member of their hometown church, that allowed Emily to actively participate in and develop a passion for teaching roles in children's ministry over the past 10 years. Outside of Del Ray UMC, Emily works full-time as a Judicial Education Program Assistant at GMU’s Law & Economic Center. In her free time, she is an avid hiker and reader and enjoys supporting her University of Arizona Wildcats!
